The Middle East has some of the most exciting architecture in the world, with innovative buildings offering new experiences to both residents and tourists – and these architecture firms in Dubai are masterminding it all. From international studios that have made the city their base, to home-grown firms that are transforming the region – from Saudi Arabia to Qatar – and taking their excellence beyond its borders to other parts of the globe, these architecture practices are proof that Dubai is the epicentre of the Middle East’s design industry.
Killa Design
Having won global acclaim for the Museum of the Future in Dubai, with its futuristic elliptical form, Shaun Killa’s firm Killa Design is known for its eye-catching buildings. Its latest ambitious project is the superyacht-inspired Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab hotel, a complement to the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab nearby. It incorporates a yacht club, luxury residences and a large resort with private beaches, and is set to open later this year.
