Discover the highlights of this futuristic, superyacht-inspired property.

August 2024

Sitting on the edge of Dubai’s stunning coastline, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is set to redefine luxury hospitality with its innovative design and unparalleled amenities. Among the most anticipated new hotel openings in the UAE in 2024, this resort completes the oceanic-inspired trilogy with Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Jumeirah Burj Al Arab.

The new resort features views of the Arabian Gulf, a distinctive architectural arch, and landscaped areas that blend with the marina’s yacht aesthetic. Its futuristic design, fluid curves, and sustainable practices make it a standout in Dubai’s golden shorline.

Ahead of its hotly anticipated opening, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is already set to become a landmark in Dubai. The expansive property occupies a prime location on the tip of a peninsula on Dubai’s largest private beach. Inspired by a superyacht silhouette, the facade includes spacious rooms, suites, residences and penthouses, each with high ceilings and private terraces with stunning views. The resort offers five pools, including an infinity pool for families and a panoramic pool within the three-story spa and fitness area. Landscaped gardens feature secluded cabanas and pavilions.

The resort includes a variety of dining options designed by internationally acclaimed restaurant designers. Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is the centrepiece of a broader development that includes a superyacht marina, a promenade and nine private villas overlooking the infinity ocean view. The new resort marks a significant milestone for the Jumeirah.

Savoir Flair sat down with the visionary designer behind this iconic project, Shaun Killa, who revealed the 10 things you need to know about Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab before it opens.

1 VISIONARY DESIGN

Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is crafted as a subtle yet striking addition to Dubai’s architectural landscape. Shaun Killa of Killa Design ensured the resort’s timelessness by opting for simplicity and elegance rather than excessive articulation. The design narrates a journey that begins at Madinat Jumeirah and culminates at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, showcasing the evolution of architecture from traditional to futuristic expressions.

2 ARCHITECTURAL INSPIRATION

Drawing inspiration from the world’s ultra-super yachts, the design evokes a sense of being on the water through its fluid curvatures, reminiscent of a yacht gliding out to sea. Advanced software and technology enabled the creation of these smooth, double-curved lines.

3 PRIME LOCATION AND ICONIC VIEW

Situated on the tip of a peninsula along Dubai’s largest private beach, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab offers breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf. The design intentionally splits the hotel and residences to preserve unobstructed views of the iconic Jumeirah Burj Al Arab. This separation ensures that tourists and the public can enjoy the best possible vantage points from various angles along Jumeirah’s open beach, making Jumeirah Burj Al Arab a focal point of the experience.

4 UNIQUE FEATURES

One of the standout features of the project is the grand arch beneath the hotel, serving as the guest drop-off area. This arch perfectly frames a stunning view of Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, offering a memorable arrival experience. It not only enhances the visual appeal but also sets the stage for the luxurious journey that awaits inside.

5 LUXURIOUS ACCOMMODATIONS

The resort boasts 386 rooms and suites, four penthouses, 82 residences, and a sleek superyacht marina by D-Marin amid landscaped gardens. Each room features four-meter-high ceilings, and many offer 11-meter-wide floor-to-ceiling windows, with terraces overlooking the ocean. The residences are designed to provide ultimate comfort and the finest amenities in a real sanctuary of chic nautical living.

6 EXQUISITE DINING OPTIONS

Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is home to 11 restaurants and nine bars, each designed by internationally acclaimed restaurant designers. These dining venues offer a diverse range of culinary experiences, from fine dining to casual meals, ensuring that every palate is catered to. The restaurants and bars are strategically placed to offer stunning views, enhancing the dining experience with picturesque backdrops.

7 SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES

Sustainability is integral to the resort’s design. Continuous balconies serve as natural shading devices for the glass façade, reducing heat load and lowering cooling requirements by up to 40 percent. The resort also incorporates low-energy recovery systems to minimize overall energy consumption, reflecting a strong commitment to environmental responsibility.

8 MARINA EXPERIENCE

The resort features an 82-berth along with the marina promenade featuring luxurious six-bedroom villas. The marina provides a unique experience for guests seeking nautical adventures, while the boardwalk, lined with exclusive shops and dining options, creates a vibrant and lively atmosphere.

9 AVANT-GARDE STRUCTURAL DESIGN

The resort’s steel arch structure serves as both a grand entrance and the support for the hotel’s 11 floors, showcasing advanced architectural engineering. The structure has a span of 36 meters and a height of 12 meters. This was a significant engineering feat, requiring careful planning and execution.

10 EXCEPTIONAL GUEST EXPERIENCE

Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is designed to offer a memorable experience from the moment guests arrive. The carefully crafted spaces and panoramic views enhance the overall stay, ensuring that every moment is special. The combination of luxury, comfort, and breathtaking scenery creates an unparalleled guest experience that leaves a lasting impression.
