The city’s newest hotspots are calling.
By Veronica Van Belle | February 2025

The final piece of Dubai’s ocean-inspired trilogy is finally here. Marsa Al Arab, designed by Shaun Killa—the architect behind the Museum of the Future—officially opens its doors on March 14, completing the skyline alongside Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Burj Al Arab. With a superyacht-inspired look (minus the motion sickness) and 386 rooms and suites overlooking the Gulf, it’s set to become everyone’s new (stay/va)cation favorite.
But even if you’re not staying overnight, Marsa Al Arab’s coastline is calling. A new waterfront district has taken shape right in front of the hotel, blending local favorites with exciting new arrivals, serving up sun-drenched terraces, a front-row seat to drifting yachts, and a sea breeze that instantly puts you in out-of-office mode. From early-morning coffee runs to long, late-night dinners, these are the places we’ve been longing for.

HEAF
In a gorgeous, clean, and minimalist space with stone walls, warm wooden accents, and a stainless steel coffee corner (so perfect we’d transport it straight into our homes if we could), Heaf is the kind of place where you come for a coffee and somehow stay all day—working, reading, or just enjoying the zen atmosphere. Every detail is so beautifully curated it feels straight out of a Japanese coffee shop, down to the packaging that’s almost too pretty to sip from. But once you do, any plans to leave quickly disappear—because what’s the rush when another cup is always an option?

SALT
If there’s one reason to tear yourself away from Heaf, it’s the rest of the superyacht-inspired promenade—especially its neighbor, Salt. A Dubai institution, Salt serves up burgers, fries, and ice cream that people don’t just crave—they’re loyal to. Juicy, flavor-packed, and tucked into pillowy-soft buns, Salt’s signature burgers have redefined comfort food in the city—because let’s be honest, they’re downright addictive.

MEAT THE FISH
For the Lebanese among us, Meat the Fish needs no introduction. But if you would need one (we forgive you): Meat the Fish started as a home delivery service for top-tier meat and seafood, but people were so obsessed that restaurant openings quickly followed—first in Beirut, then London, and now, finally, Dubai. The space? Think of a cute, colorful fisherman’s market, but elevated in all the right ways. The menu? A seamless fusion of Mediterranean and Asian flavors, built around seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The dish you should undoubtedly be ordering? Beetroot salmon sashimi—always.

CUTFISH SUSHI BISTRO
Already a favorite in London and Moscow, Cutfish Sushi Bistro has made its mark at Marsa Al Arab—and if you weren’t already obsessed, you will be. Known for its seamless blend of Japanese precision and creative flair, this sushi hotspot delivers everything from silky sashimi to melt-in-your-mouth tartares and impossibly fresh hand rolls. At its core is an open kitchen, where every slice, roll, and plate is crafted before your eyes, turning dinner into a front-row experience. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why Japanese food is something you could wake up for—every single day.

PUBLIC
For those who are always craving Italian, Public has long been a go-to, and now it’s bringing its delicious pasta, pizza, and signature charm to the superyacht deck. A modern, colorful take on Italy, Public has playful interiors, beautiful plates and dishes, and portions that keep you coming back. And no matter which spot at Marsa Al Arab you were hanging out before, stopping by for its viral, impossiblycreamy tiramisu is a given.

FEELS
The go-to spot for the best smoothies and healthy snacks—already a favorite at Kite Beach—is now sparing us the extra trip with its new location at Marsa Al Arab. Feels has mastered the art of guilt-free indulgence, serving up smoothies, salads, and breads that taste almost too good to be healthy. It’s the kind of place where you stop in for a drink and walk out with a full meal. And now that it’s even closer, resisting that next craving is officially out of the question.
